ISEA 2012 & SANTA FE UNIVERSITY OF ART & DESIGN
Exhibition: Origins
OPENING RECEPTION Monday, Sept. 10, 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Exhibition: September 10 through Dec. 7, 2012
My work will be included in this year's ISEA, the International Symposium on Electronic Art. The theme for this year’s ISEA, “Machine Wilderness,” references the New Mexico region as an area of rapid growth and technology alongside wide expanses of open land; it aims to present artists’ and technologists’ ideas for a more humane interaction between technology and wilderness. In its partnership with ISEA, the university will host Origins, which will feature the work of nine artists who work with pinhole cameras and alternative photographic processes, exploring the historic intersections between art and science. Origins is curated by Mary Anne Redding, chair of the Photography Department, and David Scheinbaum, SFUAD’s director of photography and artist in residence.
Artists include: Eliot Porter, Jody Ake, Hunter Klaus, Leigh Anne Langwell, Bernie Lopez, Eric Renner, Jennifer Schlesinger, Robert Shlaer, Nancy Spencer
Atrium Gallery, Marion Center for Photographic Arts, SFUAD, 1600 St. Michael’s Drive, Santa Fe, NM
